Your box opens front and top on hinges. Each box has a unique numbered brass cover.
We also have a few larger boxes - 145mm / 5.5'' high. These were reserved to the bank's more important clients and are the size of a large shoebox.
We can customize your box by lining it with padded velvet, either black or burgundy or you can send us your own fabric.
This box is hugely popular in Swiss banks and law offices to display Swiss 'gold bar' chocolates. We can send you the chocolates laid out like on the picture for a small extra charge - see below.
These boxes have served continuously for almost a century and showed serious wear and tear. We have a Swiss artisan take each box apart and repolish the metal to restore the original shine while preserving the ancient look. The boxes are retinned and the brass cover is lacquered to keep its shiny look maintenance-free. We also apply a transparent lacquer on the body of some boxes so you won't need to polish them in the future.
This is the real thing. Swiss bank accounts are secrets shared by a handful of the richest men in the world who have quietly been using the high-class services of Swiss banks for over 200 years. The Swiss safe deposit box is the most secret part of the bank because not even the Swiss banker knows what the client stores in his box. What will you store in your box?

The Swiss Federal Bank
Your box comes from the Lausanne branch of the Swiss Federal Bank (Eidgenössische Bank / Banque Fédérale) and were in use from 1912 until 2004. The Federal Bank issued its own banknotes and was one of the largest Swiss banks until it was acquired by UBS. The bank's vault, built by Fichet, was moved to the UBS regional headquarters across the road. When UBS moved to a larger building across the road in 2004 we were able to secure exclusive rights to this famed vault. The Banque Fédérale share certificates (above) are considered by collectors to be the most decorative on the Swiss market.
What did your box contain? Who owned it? I don't know, but most probably there were extremely precious items such as gold coins, bearer bonds, official documents, cash or works of art.
What will you put in your box?
